REPORTS TO: Director of ESL/Migrant Education
FLSA Status: Non Exempt
Start Date: 12/1/2024; Temporary Part Time No Benefits
5-19 hours per week
Qualifications and Special Requirements
- Bilingual Spanish and English
- High School Diploma required, post-secondary degree preferred
- Experience working with immigrant youth, specifically migrant farmworkers
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language and coordinating additional educational services
- Comfortable working independently to deliver ESL and other educational services in migrant housing locations throughout Henderson County
- Valid driver’s license with access to personal vehicle to travel to migrant camps (will be reimbursed for all travel)
Responsibilities:
- Implement instructional ESL and supportive services to migrant farmworker out-of-school youth (OSY) using Rosetta Stone Curriculum and Goal Setting Workbook
- Ability to work three to four days per week during the late afternoon/evening, including Saturday and Sunday as needed
- Work with MEP Coordinator to identify academic and basic needs of migrant OSY
- Prepare reports on OSY student needs and educational and support services provided
- Travel in personal vehicle to migrant housing locations to deliver educational services
