REPORTS TO: Director of ESL/Migrant Education
FLSA Status: Non Exempt

 

Start Date: 12/1/2024; Temporary Part Time No Benefits

5-19 hours per week

Qualifications and Special Requirements

• Bilingual Spanish and English
• High School Diploma required, post-secondary degree preferred
• Experience working with immigrant youth, specifically migrant farmworkers
• Experience with teaching English as a Second Language and coordinating additional educational services
• Comfortable working independently to deliver ESL and other educational services in migrant housing locations throughout Henderson County
• Valid driver’s license with access to personal vehicle to travel to migrant camps (will be reimbursed for all travel)

Responsibilities:

• Implement instructional ESL and supportive services to migrant farmworker out-of-school youth (OSY) using Rosetta Stone Curriculum and Goal Setting Workbook
• Ability to work three to four days per week during the late afternoon/evening, including Saturday and Sunday as needed
• Work with MEP Coordinator to identify academic and basic needs of migrant OSY
• Prepare reports on OSY student needs and educational and support services provided
• Travel in personal vehicle to migrant housing locations to deliver educational services
