General Definition of Work This role would provide coverage during the day for multiple classes on a rotating basis. Applicants should be familiar and comfortable working with students in K-5, have knowledge of elementary instruction, and should be able to provide support in all daily activities. Throughout a typical day, applicants would travel from class to class to provide support as the primary supervisor during designated and pre-planned blocks of time.

Reports to School Principal
Essential Functions • Communicates, collaborates and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students.
• Maintains, as fully as possible, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned. • Assumes the responsibilities for instructing classes when a teacher is participating in LETRS training. • Assumes other responsibilities for that teacher when the teacher is absent. • Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class, during lunch, and other activities. • Follows all-district and individual school policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject. • Performs other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned by the School Administrator.

Education and Experience To be a substitute teacher, an individual must:
- Hold a teaching license OR
- Have a minimum of forty-eight (48) semester hours on a transcript from a college or university
To be placed on the substitute teacher list, you must fall into one of the categories listed below and meet the following criteria:
- Group A – Certified Teachers holding a valid teaching license (current or expired; from any state)
- Group B – Non-Certified (does not hold a teaching license – however, a minimum of 48 semester hours from a college or university is still required)
Physical Requirements
- This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
- Work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, and lifting.
- Work has standard vision requirements.
- Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels
- Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment, and observing general surroundings and activities.
- Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Work is generally moderately noisy (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Hiring Process 1. Complete an online Application. Applicants must provide via attachment either: a current or expired teaching license to qualify for the Certified pay rate OR an official college transcript to qualify for the Non-Certified pay rate

3. During the hiring process, Substitutes will be required to complete the App-Garden Online Substitute Orientation Training for Certified and Non-Certified applicants. A link will be provided by the HR Hiring Specialist.
