Start Date: 05/28/2024, End Date: 7/31/2024; Temporary Part Time No Benefits

7 hours per day (35 hours per week)

 

Position Summary
Daily work schedule is based on a seven to eight hour work day ranging from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Actual clock in and clock out times will vary. Preference will be given to candidates who will work at least 35 hours a week.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children.
  • Experience in education, teaching, summer, or other youth programs.
  • Punctual and professional.
  • Spanish/English bilingual is desired, but not required.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Satisfactory background check, vaccinations, physical, and valid driver’s license required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising school-age youth with summer program educational and recreational activities at the Henderson County’s Boys and Girls Club. Time will be divided between co-teaching a class of students from various backgrounds, and working individually or in small groups with children from farmworker families on educational activities including skills in reading, math, and other subjects.
  • Providing similar instructional activities through home visits.

 

Staff must be active, responsible, compassionate, trust-worthy, able to switch activities quickly, and comfortable working with children in and outside of a normal classroom setting, including daily outside park visits, and weekly field trips and/or pool visits. Daily attendance is required throughout the summer and punctuality is of the utmost importance. Staff will be required to follow directions from leadership at all times.
